The clients make Fishtalk betterThe best way to develop good software, is involving the end-users and learning about their everyday issues. This is why AKVA group regularly invites its clients to Fishtalk product forums.
The Fishtalk software consists of two main applications – Fishtalk Control
and Fishtalk Equipment
. While the latter puts the user in control of maintenance and operations of all the equipment at the facility, Fishtalk Control is all about getting the fish to “talk”. Information about e.g. weight, fish health and physical environmental factors in and outside the facility provides an excellent decision basis in order to run the production in the best possible way.
The precursor of today’s Fishtalk software dates back to the 80’s. The software has been through an incredible development to fulfill new needs since the first version was introduced.
“In order to deliver the best possible product, we need to know what our clients want and how we can solve their individual needs in a way that benefit as many clients as possible. This is why we now invite all new and old clients to regular product forums,” says sales manager Thomas Hoff.
Improvement suggestions registered by Fishtalk support personnel forms the basis for the sessions. The participants are encouraged to prioritize the suggestions and discuss their needs with each other.
“The product forum gives us a better understanding of what our clients want and a clear message of what’s most urgent,” Hoff says.
The previous product forum took place in October, focusing on Fishtalk Equipment. The next one takes place in Trondheim on 1 – 2 February and will focus on Fishtalk Control.
“To our previous forum we had invited Jørgen Walaunet from Sinkaberg-Hansen, who gave a very good academic lecture on regulatory requirements and what fish farmers need to comply with in the NYTEK regulation. Professional content gives an added value and is something we wish to do even more of in future product forums,” the sales manager says.
Feedback from the participants also shows that they value the social dimension of the product forum, giving them a valuable opportunity to exchange experiences across companies.
“We see participants learning from each other and getting useful Fishtalk tips from their colleagues in the industry,” Hoff points out.
