Wheatsheaf and Egersund are delighted to complete this transaction which establishes Wheatsheaf, another strategic long-term industrial investor, as a substantial minority shareholder in AKVA Group, with a shareholding of 15.1%. Egersund remains the sole majority shareholder in AKVA Group and together with Wheatsheaf, reiterate their long-term commitment to support the management team in the continued development of AKVA as the market leading provider of technology and services to the global aquaculture industry.
Wheatsheaf was established by the Grosvenor Estate in 2012. Its growing portfolio is focused on selected investment themes, all of which seek to enhance resource efficiency in food production. The investment focus is on sectors such as animal breeding, nutrient recovery, aquaculture, alternative proteins and energy efficiency. Wheatsheaf invests in companies and their management teams who share its vision to find ways of producing more from less, to drive returns and contribute towards a more sustainable future.
