"Our smart camera is a decision-support solution that helps fish farmers estimate biomass with a very high degree of accuracy," Ole Kristian explains. “It is also an excellent tool for sea lice counting. Installed directly in the pen, the system consists of a winch, a smart camera and software. The winch moves the camera throughout the pen at different depths, continuously collecting images and sensor data around the clock.”
"The biggest difference compared with other camera systems on the market is that the smart camera rotates. This allows it to capture the fish from multiple angles – from the sides, above and below. The rotating camera captures 360-degree images of the fish and estimates average fish weight with 97% accuracy. This gives you much better control of sea lice levels, biomass and fish health," says Ole Kristian.
"In addition, the solution can operate throughout an entire production cycle without the camera requiring manual cleaning. This significantly reduces downtime at your site," he adds.
