From the bustling cities of Mexico and France to the mountains, fjords, and professional communities of Klepp. Ana Garcia and Julien Perdriau each took a leap — and landed in a technology company that invests in people, not just skills.

"I never imagined this is where I would end up. But it feels completely right," says Ana.

Today, they both work at AKVA group’s headquarters in Klepp, in different roles and disciplines — with shared experiences of trust, development, and well-being in a global company with roots on Jæren.

Step by step into a permanent position

Ana came to Norway to complete a master's degree in economics and management. What began as an internship marked the start of a career at AKVA group. Today, she works as a People Systems Specialist, responsible for digital HR systems.

"Each new role has given me the opportunity to learn and grow. I’ve always been met with trust and support — and that means a lot," she says.

Julien moved to Norway after completing studies in industrial and mechanical engineering. He was recommended AKVA group by colleagues in the industry — and decided to apply.

“I wanted to join a larger, people-focused company and was looking for new challenges. Entering the fast-growing aquaculture industry with AKVA group felt like the right step,” says Julien.

He now works as Lead Sales Engineer in the technical sales department and enjoys combining technical insight with commercial responsibility.

A place where diversity matters

Both highlight the working environment as one of the most important aspects they have experienced at AKVA group.

"You’re welcomed as you are," says Ana. "It’s not about which language you speak best, but what you can contribute."

"From day one, I felt welcomed into an open and inclusive workplace. AKVA group is international and diverse — and you’re encouraged to bring your own ideas and perspective. It makes you feel like you truly contribute," says Julien.

What they both share is an appreciation for the cultural community.

"We learn from each other — about gardening, food, traditions, and how to make real Mexican tacos," Ana smiles.

Balancing work and everyday life

Ana lives close to the office and values the calm surroundings, proximity, and nature. Julien lives in Stavanger and commutes to Klepp by car.

"Stavanger has the perfect size — everything you need, without the stress of a big city. It’s close to nature, with hiking, surfing and skiing all within reach. The commute is easy via the highway,” he says.

"I like that I can walk or cycle to work. It gives the day a different start," says Ana.

Would recommend it to others

Both encourage others — Norwegians and internationals alike — to consider AKVA group as an employer.

“Working at AKVA group means joining a company that’s forward thinking and globally connected, yet still closely tied to the local communities and industries it serves,“ says Julien.

AKVA group is present in markets all over the world, with offices in Denmark, Scotland, Lithuania, Spain, Greece, Turkey, Chile, Canada, China, and Australia — but the headquarters and heart remain in Klepp.

"And you become part of something bigger. A place where people care — both about what they do and about each other," Ana adds.
