AKVA group ASA wants to be a part of the Icelandic aquaculture boom and contribute to further developing the industry in Iceland. The companies are currently looking to increase the efforts to strengthen the service operations in Iceland. In addition to sales and service representatives, a software representative from AKVA group has been present.

“As most of the fishfarmers in Iceland are using the Fishtalk platform, it is important for us to be close to the customers and continue our customer oriented development,” says Thomas Hoff, Sales Manager in AKVA group Software.

During the exhibition AKVA group and Egersund Iceland closed a contract for a Polarcirkel Sport 580 boat with Laxar. Laxar Fiskeldi plans to develop production facilities with a total capacity of at least 25,000 tons. Increased stock volume leads to enhanced efficiency and a more solid operational basis.

Icelandic authorities have introduced new Icelandic regulations for sea farming, which are largely based on the Norwegian NS-9415. This is an advantage for the industry. The professionalization of the industry leads to increased interest from investors.

The entire industry has gained confidence that Iceland will succeed and become a stable salmon producer. The increased investments results in aquaculture companies far better equipped to meet the plans for aquaculture growth in Iceland.

AKVA group and Egersund Iceland will continue to build close relations to the customers and strengthen the presence in Iceland.
