New barge to Måsøval Fiskeoppdrett
AKVA group is delivering a new AM 320 Classic feed barge with 320 tons storage capacity and 8 feed lines to Måsøval Fiskeoppdrett. The barge will be in operation at one of the company’s sites at Frøya.
Måsøval Fiskeoppdrett is a family owned business at Frøya in the southern part of Trøndelag, Norway. The company currently has 11 concessions and operations on seven to ten facilities for salmon production. To further develop its pool of technical equipment, the company has now decided to invest in a new Akva Master 320 Classic barge.
Akva Master 320 Classic is a modern feed barge optimized for efficient operations. It has a calculated strength of 3.5 significant wave height, metallized surface, control room with good overview and a spacious, sound-proof engine room. The feed capacity is customized to the client’s needs. Måsøval has ordered 320 tons storage capacity and eight feed lines.

“It was the guys working in the production who wanted a barge from AKVA group. They are the ones who’ll be using the equipment, so their opinion matters a lot,” says Technical Manager in Måsøval Fiskeoppdrett, John Tore Andersen.
The company already has several feeding systems from AKVA group, both in hatcheries and on other feed barges.
“The feeding systems are functioning well and easy to operate. This, combined with good opportunities to customize the barge according to our needs, were decisive,” Antonsen says.
Måsøval Fiskeoppdrett’s team has been involved in designing the silage system on board. The barge, which will be the eighth feed barge Måsøval Fiskeoppdrett puts into operation, is also especially designed for remote control using the AKVAconnect software.
