AKVA group is entering as the new main partner for the Robust-løpet – a local community race aiming to get the entire Jæren region moving. The partnership will span three years, and the race will be named the AKVA Robust-løpet. The goal is to promote better public health and stronger community ties.

“We want to contribute to better public health in the region. When people meet and move together, we also create stronger communities. These are values we stand for at AKVA group,” says CEO Knut Nesse.

Knut Nesse shares more about the background of the partnership and what the AKVA Robust Run aims to mean for the local community. See video here in Norwegian.

A race for everyone – with local roots

The Robust-løpet was initiated by Robust Trening og Fysioterapi in Bryne as a low-threshold and inclusive race for the whole community. It offers multiple distances for different levels – from short courses for children and families to longer routes for recreational and experienced runners. A special walker race is also planned, ensuring participation for older people and those with reduced mobility.

The next race will take place on 14 February 2026, with start and finish in Bryne town centre. Registration opens on 1 May at robustbryne.no.

A meeting point for the whole of Jæren

The goal for 2026 is 4,000 participants – and to establish the AKVA Robust-løpet as an annual gathering point for businesses, families, and local communities across Jæren.

“This is not meant to be a race for the few, but an arena for joy, achievement, and belonging. We want to create something lasting – with strong local engagement and national potential,” says Stian Gilje from Robust.

Strong turnout at AKVA milå

The launch of the partnership follows the AKVA milå, which was held last weekend with an excellent turnout. The event offered a glimpse of the community spirit and engagement the Robust-løpet aims to build upon.
