AKVA group has signed an agreement with Arctic Fish for the delivery of an AC700R feed barge. The barge will be delivered by the end of July 2026 and transported to Iceland’s west coast in mid-September the same year.

“This barge will provide Arctic Fish with a modern and reliable feeding platform that strengthens their operations on the west coast of Iceland,” says Project Manager Alf Kåre Ulfsnes at AKVA group.

Iceland is an important market for AKVA group, marking a clear and growing presence in the country’s aquaculture industry.

The AC700R is a robust feed barge with 700 tonnes capacity, hybrid power supply, and solutions tailored for operations under exposed conditions.

Reliability and efficiency

Arctic Fish chose the AC700R for its robust design and because it is equipped with a reliable feeding system that ensures safe and efficient operations. The barge will also be delivered with AKVA group’s latest AKVA connect software, enabling precise control and full overview of both feeding and barge functions.

The hybrid system, combined with the generators, ensures operational reliability and energy efficiency, while shore power readiness paves the way for a more sustainable future.

Previous deliveries to Iceland

Earlier this autumn, AKVA group also delivered an AC600VR feed barge to Kaldvik on Iceland’s east coast.

“Salmon production in Iceland has developed rapidly in recent years. AKVA group has delivered a wide range of solutions and technology to the Icelandic market, in close collaboration with skilled customers and partners. We are fully committed to continuing this journey,” says Stian Paulsen, Commercial Director Sea Based at AKVA group.
