Fish on FIFAX
Rainbow trout fingerlings have now been delivered to the largest land based fish farm in Finland set to produce 3200 tons per year.
The fish will grow to a size of 2 kilo before they are harvested, which is expected to take around 1 year from the fingerling stage. The output will be a consistent supply of freshly farmed fish to serve customers every day of the year.
The complete recirculation system is delivered by AKVA group Denmark, and construction is on-going. The complete farm consists of 36 large grow-out tanks together with hatchery and fry system, all covered with a fully insulated building of 15.000 m2. Internal water flow will be continuously treated and discharged fish manure will be used in a biogas plant producing electricity. Waste from the fish slaughter processing will also be used in biogas production.
