Customer: Lovundlaks
Delivery: AC700R feed barge
Delivery date: March 2025

The contract for the feed barge was signed in early March 2024 and included delivery of the AC700R model. The model is a further development of the AC450 and AC650 series and has been designed with a focus on cost-effective operation, high quality and efficient feeding at exposed sites. The barge is adapted for remote and more automated operation, while operational performance has been optimised.

In the design of the AC700R, key functions have been raised higher above sea level to provide greater clearance from waves and sea spray. This has made it possible to remove platforms that previously interfered with towing operations, simplify maintenance and make use of areas on the barge that were previously unused. The result is improved deck space and greater cost efficiency.

The barge is prepared for ensiling and the safe handling of mortalities, acid and silage, and features a standardised mooring arrangement and a dedicated hybrid room. The feed hose has an optimised curvature that contributes to stable and efficient feeding. The barge is designed for a significant wave height of Hs 4.99 metres.

Delivery of the AC700R was planned for the first quarter of 2025 and forms a key part of Lovundlaks’ continued operations.

Lovundlaks chose to name its new feed barge "Jørn Sivertsen" in recognition of Jørn Sivertsen’s many years of service with AKVA group and his role in the collaboration between the two companies. The name was announced during the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Polarcirkel cage at Lovund, where Lovundlaks CEO Jacob Palmer Meland surprised Sivertsen with the announcement.
