Syncsat markeringsbøye

Several fish farmers face a significant environmental burden once a year when replacing the batteries of the marking lights on the fish farm. New, green technology can eliminate thirty kilos of environmentally harmful waste per year for each light.

The owner, or the person responsible for an aquaculture facility, must ensure that it is marked in accordance with regulations and that markings are otherwise in compliance with any special conditions according to the permit to establish it.

The regulations cover the marking of fish farms. However, they do not dictate how much environmentally harmful waste one may produce as a consequence of this marking.

Conventional marking lights have battery packs weighing 30 kilos. These are not rechargeable and need to be replaced after 12 to 18 months. Consequently, the largest facilities have to handle up to 300 kg of environmentally hazardous waste. With a rechargeable solution, this is no longer a problem.

Environmentally friendly marking lights

Norwegian-manufactured, rechargeable marking lights from Syncsat have several benefits compared to conventional solutions. The lights have rechargeable battery packs that save the environment from a considerable volume of environmentally hazardous waste, while also avoiding the expense of new battery packs every 12-18 months.

Syncsat has a wave generator that recharges the battery pack when in use and extends the time between each battery replacement. The batteries can withstand up to 500 charging cycles without any performance loss.

HSE benefit

Weighing only eight kilos, including foot, mast, light, and battery, Syncsat is easy to handle and simple to install and relocate. No heavy lifting for the operators working at the cages and no complicated crane operations are required to mount or relocate the lights. T

he lights can be attached to small buoys and come with brackets for most buoy sizes. Because the battery packs are lightweight, a small boat is all you need when swapping them. The actual replacement takes only a couple of minutes, and it is thus of little practical significance that the batteries need recharging every six to eight months.

Rugged and flexible

SyncSat marking lights are made of a specially developed composite material that is extremely strong. That's why the lights have a long lifespan and can withstand collision, bending, and twisting like when delousing boats and fish carriers moor alongside the cage.
